The best part of this game were the sprites. Everything else was pretty poorly done. The game was buggy, slow, and boring. I felt little motivation to save the hero's girlfriend, it got old so fast. Playing this game was a drag, because of poor performance. If you could fix the bugs, maybe add upgrades or medals, the game would have some interest. But even zombies can't save a bad game.

Nothing that new, and it had some flaws. The timer would often go too early, meaning I could beat levels, even when I should have failed, because the objects were plummeting towards the void below. Overall the game was visually appealing, and relaxing to play, but not much more can be said. It was boring, and not that creative. There are a million games like this, and it did little to stand out on it's own.

Fantastic Game. Great Music, Art, Gameplay, Medals, Storyline, this game has it all. Very well put together, and there are so many elements to the game, it's not as simple as some might first think.

Only complaint was that I didn't understand the marketplace at first, as in, the prices on certain items change each day. That wasn't obvious at the start of the game.

In terms of replay value, I probably won't play it again with the other ships, just because the game took so long to beat. Maybe if you are stuck on including these other ships, they can be ships that are available within the first game? Just a suggestion.

::Spoiler Alert Below::

How to beat the Kraken. Some people were wondering this. It's simple, circle around the map, avoiding the borders, which do damage, and use the fireballs to take out the smaller Krakens. This will break the shield. Then you can circle the main Kraken, and take him out with your main cannons. You will need to Tortoise Shell for this, because you need to be able to take a lot of damage, there is no way to maneuver around the bullets, this isn't a bullet hell game. Once I had the full shell, I beat the Kraken in one try.

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. One of the best Ludum Dare games I've seen so far. It had beautiful pixel art, great feel, interesting gameplay, not too challenging, but not too easy. You even had time to include a medal. I have no complaints, this game is really top-notch!

Well put together game overall, nice music, great pixel art, decent gameplay. Although I have a few problems. First off, you need to make better instructions to the game, like how do you earn the points for upgrades? Second, coins do almost nothing, the concept of items is weak. One use items that cost that much is a waste. I ended up selling every item I picked up, just to get the gold achievements. Altogether it's a good game, but it needs some tweaking for sure.

Thanks for the comment! You can get coin for upgrade just by clearing a new level!

Well done, but very frustrating. If you were to put this into a fuller game, I would suggest more levels, less frustration per level. In addition, you could improve on the art a little bit.

Great game, but there were some things you could improve on. Better instructions, no typos, and medals could have all brought up your score. Different levels would have been nice, as well as other upgrades. It's a decent game, but it doesn't have a lot to stand out of the countless shooters.

Excellent Game! Although, I had to mark this game down for one, because of the lag, but secondly, and most importantly, the medals did not work. I haven't yet received the medal for 50 dog tags, and I have collected 250+ dog tags, this is just an example, none of the medals work at all. Fix this ASAP!

Torrunt responds:

The medals should work, they worked before i launched the game.

Edit: I just had a realisation! I think i know what the problem is, I'll update soon.
Edit Again: It's fixed and the update is live.

Alright, although if you added instructions to the game your rating would be a lot higher. I can't tell what the different platforms all do, for example are blue platforms enemies? Because sometimes they help, and sometimes they hurt. What is with that? The game seems to be a little too random.

Pretty bad, the art is OK. But the music is repetitive, the game is too difficult, and you can't even combine items. If you can it isn't obvious how to do so. This game is far too confusing to be enjoyable.

goldleader23 responds:

Combining items is explained in the instructions, but there are only 2 items that combine, and you can't get them until you get outside. The sequel will be adjusted accordingly.
